Hi! My name is Virginia. I'm a web developer. I live in Germany with my husband, dog, and cats. I was a teacher and translator for 12 years before changing careers and becoming a web developer.
I enjoy working with JavaScript both in the front and backend, but I've also played around with other languages, such as Python, and currently I'm learning Ruby on Rails!
Some of my hobbies include cooking delicious vegan meals, hiking in the forest with my husband Enzo and our dog Murray, and reading.
I'm interested in helping other junior developers thrive and succeed in their careers. I'm also passionate about diversifying the tech industry. These interests drive my personal projects. You can read more about these topics in the blog and work sections.
I'm an engineer at Inrupt. I am lucky to work remotely, since remote work is something I am very passionate about.
I am also an Outreachy mentor for LibreHealth. I work with my co-mentors, applicants and interns to expand, improve and translate the documentation for the EHR project.
Along with my husband Enzo, I have recently started a Telegram group for junior developers to support and help each other, which now has over 500 members. We also created a website for the community: Junior Devs.
And aside from all that, I am always learning something new (right now it's Ruby on Rails!) and putting it into action in my personal projects (portfolio coming soon!).
